Our challenge theme this week is still-life. I must not be the only one that immediately thinks of bowls of fruit at the term "still-life." (You can see a bigger version here: A Fruitful Idea.)
Following last week's declaration of turning this weekly challenge into a selfie project as well proved to be a little harder than I had anticipated. But my three-year-old photography assistant saved the day when she told me I could "take a picture of me taking a picture of the fruit." I did. But then I put myself into the frame too.
Things I learned:
- Direct light in the late afternoon is lovely.
- My old D70 feels really awkward in my hands.
- Pushing the remote with my foot almost always results in three frames.
- It's actually kind of tricky to arrange fruit and make it look appealing.
- My little kid cannot leave the fruit in the bowl. But she has really good ideas, so I forgive her.
WICKED cool shot Mary!! Love the strong lights and darks in it! totally cool!
